We got a call on our helpline from villagers living many kilometers outside of Udaipur who told us there was a dog they had heard at the bottom of a very remote well near their village. When they had first heard her cries they hadn’t known about Animal Aid’s existence but were too afraid to climb down the well to help her. After asking around their village someone finally gave them our helpline number and we were able to immediately go out to save her, bringing a crane along for the job.
